Our programs have started and we are still in need of teachers and mentors in our Faith Formation Ministry to children and youth. Over and over I hear from teachers that it isn’t what you know that qualifies you to the ministry—it’s how much you want to learn! And indeed, you explore and discover together as you minister to our kids.
And truly, for elementary and youth, you are only teaching a total of 8-10 Sundays throughout the year! Now that’s doable! As the saying goes, many hands make light work—and you can make the work of other ministry volunteers lighter by joining them.
In Kindergarten we need 1 teacher to join Katherine and Joe Blecha, and Greg Shoffner as a team member. Teams of two teach every other month and sub for one another when there is a conflict. All curriculum is prepared and supplies are laid out for you on Sunday morning. AND Julia, our new Director of Children’s Music comes in each Sunday to sing with the children! It’s story, games and crafts and play on the playground. Let your stress melt away as you play with our little ones!
In Upper Elementary we need 1 teacher to join Wendy Orlando, Larry Blankenship and Paul Schroeder. This commitment is equivalent to 2 Sunday’s every other month. There is a calendar to sign up so that you can travel or have other commitments and still fulfill your time! And you can attend worship in whole or in part every Sunday. All curriculum and supplies are provided, and you can have as much or as little input as you wish! Contact Deborah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In Middle School we are looking for one graduated young person to join Sam Bauman in facilitating with Allison Tatterson and Jerry Champlin. The commitment is the equivalent of 2 Sunday’s every other month, or 1 Sunday a month on the middle 2 Sundays. (Youth are in worship on the 1s Sunday, and SERVE Sunday is on the 4th Sunday). Explore and discover together with our middle schoolers what being a refugee in the New Testament was like, and how that pertains to us individually and as a society today. Games, fun and laughter included! Contact Deborah at email@example.com.
On 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings we need mentors to work alongside Matthew for Middle School (4:00-5:30) and High School (5:00-6:30) Youth Group. Come and play with our youth. Laughter is guaranteed which is, after all, the BEST Medicine! Contact Matthew at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
AND in the Toddler Room Ginger is always looking for folks who want to be rejuvenated by spending some time with our littlest ones. Hazel, Liv and friends are delightful, and Ginger does all the heavy lifting. Contact Deborah at email@example.com to join in the love!
