April 10-17:  Join us for the Holiest Week of the Christian Year

Palm Sunday

April 10, 9:00 am and 11:00 am, In-Person and Online (11:00 am)

Join Jesus as he enters Jerusalem with Hosanna Songs and a Palm Sunday Procession!  If you’d like to be part of the Parade into the Sanctuary, please meet on the Plaza at 8:50 am or 10:50 am. Partway through our worship, we’ll move forward in the Holy Week story to the table where Jesus will share his Last Supper. Meet in Plymouth Hall at 10:00 am between the worship services for a Festive Coffee Hour.

Maundy Thursday

April 14, 7:00 pm, In-Person and Online

Gather for a Service of Shadows with Holy Communion, when we remember the washing of the disciples’ feet and the Last Supper, before the lights dim to darkness and we recall Jesus’ anguished prayer, his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, and his death on the cross. If you are joining us online, please prepare bread and juice or wine for communion, and light a candle.

Good Friday

April 15, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Stations of the Cross Prayer Pilgrimage in the Sanctuary

On the most somber day of the Christian year, walk with Jesus on his journey through the Stations of the Cross with art and word, an exhibit originally curated by Victoria Emily Jones (artandtheology.org) for the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Come and go as you wish all day long.

April 15, Noon to 3:00 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church

Ecumenical Worship on the Seven Last Words

Remember the Seven Last Words of Christ and Jesus’ death on the cross in the company of others from the wider community. Our own Kevin Pettit will be preaching on the sixth word at approximately 2:o0 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Pine Street. Come and go during the afternoon as you wish.

Easter Sunday

April 17, 9:00 am and 11:00 am, In-Person and Online (11:00 am)

Brass! Bells! Choirs! Flowers! Alleluias!  All of them serve to bring us to the empty tomb where we proclaim Christ’s Resurrection! As a sign of our joy, extended Musical Preludes will begin 8:45 am and 10:45 am. Meet in Plymouth Hall at 10:00 am between the worship services for a Festive Coffee Hour and interactive Easter Egg Hunt!
