Our COVID-19 Safety Team recently met to discuss the ever-evolving virus and what’s possible for our church life this fall. While remaining alert to everyone’s health and safety, we have made plans for some forms of gathering together in person. This is an update on our decisions.
Sunday Morning Worship at 8:30 am and 10:30 am
Beginning Sunday, September 5, in-person worship will be held every Sunday in the Sanctuary at 8:30 am and 10:30 am.
The 10:30 am service will continue to be livestreamed, so that you can join us wherever you are.
The in-person services will be limited to 100 people in the Sanctuary, with the Chapel put into use as needed as an overflow space for folks to watch the service via livestream. We are wearing masks, humming hymns softly, and requiring folks to sign in when they enter the building.
Children & Youth
Sunday school will begin meeting in-person during the 10:30 service starting on Sunday September 19. Per our COVID guidelines as established by our Safety Team, whenever possible, Sunday school classes will be meeting outdoors with masks on. Pre/K will meet on the playground and Elementary will meet in the grassy area in front of the sanctuary on Pine Street. Our middle school class will meet on the Plaza, and our high school class will be headed off campus to Pearl Street where they will find a coffee shop and sit in discussion together. Provisions have been made to move inside in specific classrooms with windows and air purifiers for ventilation should weather dictate. A separate email has gone out to all parents explaining the plan for the fall and asking for feedback. If you have not received that email, please let Deborah know (email@example.com) and she will make sure you receive it. Hybrid options for our children who cannot join us are also being developed. Despite all the Covid precautions, we will have a fun, energetic Sunday School Experience together!
A Time for Fellowship
Between the services, at 9:30 am, you are welcome to attend a time of fellowship outdoors on the Plaza. There will be no food or drink for now, but we imagine the time between the services as an opportunity for folks from both 8:30 am and 10:30 am worship to greet one another. In time, we may add some small group conversations to this in-between time. After the 10:30 am service there will another time of fellowship on the Plaza, which will be followed with Chancel Choir rehearsal outdoors at noon. We encourage you not to congregate for long in the Link, but to use the outdoor space as weather permits for conversation.
The Order of Worship bulletin for each service can be found in a link directly below the video of the service on YouTube.
Online and Outdoor Events
Sundays immediately following worship until 12:00 noon, you are warmly welcome to join our time of Coffee Hour on Zoom, a time to greet one another face to face and enjoy casual conversation in small groups. It’s a great way to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.
Women’s Spirituality Group (Tuesdays, noon), Memoir Writing (Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.), Wonder Women (1st and 3rd Thursdays, 1:30 p.m.), Men’s Breakfast (Fridays, 7:30 a.m.), Poetry Share (Fridays, noon), Bible Study (1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m.), and Movie Group (Saturday evening once a month).

On Sunday, September 12, following 10:30 am worship, we’ll hold a church picnic at Foothills Community Park at 800 Cherry Ave., Boulder.
We hope to be able to claim the shelter for our gathering and then expect to spread out on the ample lawn. Boxed lunches will be served, kids will be able to play on the playground, and lawn games are being planned. Bring your mask to wear when you’re not eating and a lawn chair or picnic blanket to
sit on. To order your lunch, please rsvp here. Please follow the registration all the way to end until you receive a Confirmation at the top of the page. Alternatively, call the church office to let us know you plan to attend – 303-442-1787, ext. 0
Feast Pray Love is back this Fall! Our annual youth fundraiser will be hosted on Saturday October 2nd from 5pm-8pm. In order to safely accommodate all of our guests that evening, Feast Pray Love will be hosted outside on the plaza. Dinner will be served, and two auctions will be hosted! As always, all the proceeds from Feast Pray Love go toward our high school mission trip. This year our students will be headed to the island of Grand Bahama to aid in the hurricane relief effort by helping to clean and repair the damage done by Hurricane Dorian. Support our students by registering for Feast Pray Love here and donating items to the auctions. For the safety of all who attend this event that everyone planning on joining us be vaccinated. Please get in touch with Calvin (firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible with auction donations.
