Arts Camp 2025 (Register)

  • Date: Monday, June 2, 2025
  • Time: All Day

Each summer, Elementary and Middle School kids produce a musical that is both fun and a reflection of our progressive faith. In addition to producing the musical, our fun will feature set/prop building, games, and activities such as canoeing, tree climbing, hiking, unbelievable counselors, vespers, and awesome meals, all within an incredible faith community! Our camp community will be alive with laughter and friendship, and it just won’t be complete without your child.

We also think faith in God can inspire the world, and at Camp it starts as we learn to identify and share God’s gifts in each of our lives. We believe that each child, and each leader, is a unique and beloved child of God, and we honor that uniqueness both in gifts, in beliefs, and in the individual journey we are each called to walk. This is just one of the things that makes our Camp Ministry special.

We hope you consider sharing Camp with the children and young people in your life, and put them in a place where they can have unimaginable fun and faith-formation in one spectacular week at camp.

WHAT IF MY KIDS DON’T WANT TO ACT OR DO A MUSICAL? While the musical is a part of camp, it is not ALL of camp. We include many other activities! If children would like to come, but not participate in the musical, we can find other ways they can contribute to the production, such as making props, set work, playing an instrument or other creative endeavors. Call Lianna Campos to discuss possibilities.

IS ARTS CAMP A DAY CAMP OR RESIDENTIAL? ARTS Camp is a residential camp. Campers stay in very comfortable modern cabins (Antelope and Black Bear) with a communal living space and a large fireplace. Middle School and Elementary School children are separated for sleeping as best we can make that happen.

WHERE IS THE CAMP? The camp is located 45 minutes away at Highlands Camp and Retreat Center. We will be staying in modern cabins with bunks, running water, and fellowship space.

WHO CAN COME? Children currently enrolled in grades 2-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. We are also looking for counselors (at least 16 years old and have completed their sophomore year of high school) who have a desire to work with kids and are able to take leadership responsibilities.

DO KIDS HAVE TO BE MEMBERS OF FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH? No! Children of all faith backgrounds (including none) are welcome! This would be a great way to introduce families to our church and their children can make friends this summer so that they know other children in the fall!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Pay what you can. The suggested cost for each camper is $550 for the week. This will completely cover cost of lodging and food for the week. We ask that families who can afford more to consider doing so to offset the other costs associated with camp, including activities, counselor costs, and supplies.

Just to be clear, all campers will receive the same experience no matter how much your family is able to contribute financially.

Additionally, we believe that no child should miss the opportunity to go to camp due to the cost and there are substantial camperships from the Voss Camp Scholarship fund available. If you’d like to give an extra donation to the Voss Camp Scholarship fund to help offset costs for another family, there is a place to do so on the registration form. Please contact Lianna Campos for more information on camperships.
