Children, youth, and families are a vital part of our congregation. We celebrate the uniqueness and God-given gifts of each beloved child of God, every one of us, as we support and encourage them to grow more fully into the person God created them to be.
We believe faith is a lifelong calling into relationship with God and creation. It starts at the beginning! Through worship music, classroom-type learning, service, and fellowship, we walk with one another on this journey through all stages of life. Our programs for children and youth span from preschool through high school.
Children are always welcome to join the rest of the congregation for worship. We cherish every opportunity to be together as a multigenerational community in worship, learning, service, and fun!
Parents of little ones will find rocking chairs in the back of our Sanctuary. Our Heritage Room, down the hall, provides a space for caregivers to watch the service on a large screen while supervising those who like to roam or need a break. A professionally staffed Infant and Toddler Room is located on the lower level and opens well before worship starts, so that toddlers have a chance to get settled before parents go to worship.
On first Sundays children and youth stay through the whole worship service and join in taking communion. A child-size table up front next to the Choir risers in the Sanctuary is equipped with quiet activities to support the participation of our children in worship. Other weeks, they begin in worship and then are blessed to go to activities in classrooms designed for them. Children’s and Youth Choirs also rehearse on Sunday morning. Youth groups meet on Sunday evenings. Highlights of the year include a summer Arts Camp for elementary and middle school youth, and a high school service camp in another part of the country.
