Our giving is an expression of our faith. The financial gifts we give to the church enable our congregation to serve as a strong, bright witness to God’s love in the world. There are many ways to give.
For Today
Our giving at FCC, Boulder is rooted in Love. Love for God. Love for all of God’s people. And love for our church. We are a church that understands that we can do way more together than we could ever do alone. Our members and friends generously support the work of First Congregational through their financial giving, time, and talent. This blessing enables us to respond together, with courage and hope, as we work for more justice and more joy in God’s wide world.
Make an Annual Pledge to Our Operating Budget
Our church depends on the regular financial gifts of members and friends. Money given to the church goes further than money given to many other charities. The reason, of course, is you. When we give to the church, we are investing in each other’s ministries and growth in faith.
Currently, more than 70% of our operating budget comes from the annual pledges of church members. Every offering, every dollar, makes a difference to our life together and the ministry we are able to do. If you would like to commit to ongoing support of our church, learn more about Stewardship 2025 below. Ready to make a commitment? Our online form will guide you in making a pledge.

Support New Initiatives
A New Initiatives Fund, held and invested separately from the annual operating budget, encourages us to experiment with new programs and ideas to keep us leaning forward into the church’s future. For example, the New Initiatives Fund made it possible for us to obtain a matching grant to start Dinner Church, to install live-streaming equipment in our Sanctuary, and to develop a new website.
For the Future
To be able to include First Congregational Church, via the Endowment Fund, in my will is not only a privilege but also an opportunity to recognize the service of our staff and congregants, to encourage program continuation, and to support the growth of our church.
Give to the Endowment Funds
Annual Disbursements from our Endowment Funds make financial resources available for a wide variety of purposes, including grants to our mission partners who provide direct service to people in need and funding for our social justice ministries. Endowment Funds help us maintain and manage our magnificent facilities, including the upkeep of our Sanctuary and Chapel organs, and provide financial resources for special activities in music and art, an annual lectureship, and scholarships to send our kids to church camp. Learn more about our Endowment Funds.
Give While You Live
In recent years, we have also undertaken a “Give While You Live” program to further fund our Endowments. The program is an invitation to begin your legacy giving to Endowment Funds now, in addition to your pledge for the Annual Operating Budget.
Discuss the best way to Give While You Live with your professional advisors. One option is a tax free Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your retirement fund.
Make a Legacy Gift
Most of the contributions to our Endowment have come from the bequests of beloved members who have gone on to eternal life. These financial gifts to the church provide an ongoing witness of their faith and commitment to our church. We encourage you to follow their example by designating a gift to the church in your estate planning or your will.
Memorial Gifts
As part of your funeral service planning, you may designate the Endowment of the church to receive memorial gifts from family and friends. Often these gifts are given in lieu of flowers. You or your family members are welcome to speak with one of the ministers to declare your wishes.
