Annually, the Board of Missions and Justice in Action awards grants to several organizations in service to God’s community that share our values, expressed through compassionate social action and informed by our Covenants.
Mission Statement
We serve the congregation by identifying causes and community partners aligned with our Covenants and social justice ministries, and by actively supporting those in need through the sharing of God’s gifts of money, time, and talents.
Organizations are encouraged to submit a grant application in response to our invitation, requesting support beyond their normal budget scope. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations, not individuals, and usually range from $2,000 to $5,000. Contact the Board to inquire about being considered as a grant invitee.
Grant award priority is given to organizations that:
- Align with our church’s values and Covenants, including creation justice, gender inclusivity, LGBTQ community affirmation, addressing systemic injustice, supporting and engaging in mental health services, and inclusion and empowerment of people of all abilities
- Serve in the Boulder County area
- Provide a 300-500 word narrative of the project, its core values, and its impact on the target community
- Include the names of church members who are actively involved in an organization’s project
- Collaborate with our Social Justice Ministries.
Award notifications are sent out within two months and grants are usually distributed within another two months.
2024 grant recipients and new invitees will be notified when applications are opened during the spring of 2025.
