Lianna Campos

Minister of Faith Formation

Lianna grew up in Illinois and moved from Indiana to Colorado in 2024. As a former public-school teacher and a history of working in Christian Education, Lianna is a lifelong learner who is well-versed in the different ways people learn and grow. She believes that faith is something that ought to be continually evolving – either growing or deepening – and that church is but one setting in which that evolution can happen.

Having not grown up in a particular church or denomination, Lianna sees God everywhere, such as when they step out on to a softball field or get into a car that’s been warmed by the sun on a cold day. Lianna is passionate about the ways in which our lived experiences form our faith, and they believe that faith formation goes beyond theological education (although she is passionate about theological education too!). Previous studies developed and led by Lianna include “Deconstructing Sunday School,” “Sex, Violence, and Women: What’s Biblical?” and an intergenerational study on the book Blessed Youth by Rev. Dr. Sarah Griffith Lund. Lianna is a member in discernment with the Southeast Assocation of the Indiana-Kentucky Conference (UCC). She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and her M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.

Lianna spends their free time playing Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop games, playing softball and volleyball, cross-stitching and quilting, telling terrible jokes (ask about the one about the broken pencil!), and chasing around their three rambunctious dogs, Puff, Sally, and Zaggi. Lianna and her spouse Joshua are very excited to explore mountain life and everything that Colorado and Boulder County have to offer!
