Associate
Minister

Pedro joined First Congregational Church as Associate Minister in August, 2015. Previously, he served in a ministerial role at The Congregational Church of Westborough.

Before choosing a career in ministry, Pedro served nearly 8 years in the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, he worked in a variety of areas from non-profit to sales while trying to determine how best to shine his light in the world.  Among those roles, Pedro worked 7 plus years in recruitment consulting while pursuing an M.Div at Andover Newton Theological School and ordination in the Central Association of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ.

Pedro found the United Church of Christ while in seminary and soon realized that the denomination’s intent toward extravagant welcome was consistent with the ministry to which he felt called. In Pedro’s estimation, the call of the local church is not just to its members, but also to the wider community of which it is a part. This is consistent with the First Congregational Church of Boulder’s understanding of itself. And as such Pedro has had the opportunity to work with leadership in the church to work on a variety of social justice and community concerns.

Pedro earned his Masters of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School and holds a Bachelors of Science in Chinese Area Studies and an Associates of Arts in Mandarin Chinese. He and his wife Kelly have two daughters and in their free time enjoy traveling, reading, snowboarding, and learning about different cultures.
