Your First Visit

Welcome to First Congregational Church Boulder, a faith community that deeply values each individual and honors the uniqueness of every spiritual journey. We’re so glad you want to Get to Know Us.

In worship, we gather to experience the presence of God through inspiring messages that reflect God’s love, inclusive grace, radical welcome, and a call to live out our faith through justice and service. Our services feature a blend of traditional and contemporary music, fostering a space for spiritual reflection and connection. While our roots are firmly in the Christian tradition, we also draw from the wisdom of other faiths, expanding our understanding of God and enriching our journey of faith.

We believe that everyone is on a unique spiritual journey, each at their own stage of growth. By seeking a deeper connection with God, we open ourselves to a more authentic and life-giving relationship with the Divine, strengthening our faith and discovering greater clarity and purpose.

Sunday Morning

Each Sunday morning, we have two unique worship services. Our 8:30 a.m. service is held in our warm and inviting Chapel and is a meditative, reflective service. Our 10:30 a.m. service is held in our beautiful and spacious Sanctuary and is available via Livestream and later in our video Sermon and Service Archive. This service is designed to be both structured and spirited, honoring tradition while embracing contemporary expressions of faith. Through a blend of classic hymns and modern worship songs, we create a space where all generations can find meaning and connection.

After 10:30 a.m. Worship, we invite you to stay to enjoy a cup of coffee, some snacks, and to make some new friends.

During The Week

Throughout the week, we have a large number and variety of programs and activities that occur at the church and beyond our walls. You can find information about our extensive Adult, Youth and Children learning, support and social activities as well as our many ministry, justice and service opportunities throughout the pages on this website. You can also find more about our Small Groups and see upcoming events on our Calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everyone likes to know what to expect. Here are some questions (and answers!) that you might have before your first visit.

What is available for our kids?

In our Sanctuary, you’ll find rocking chairs for parents of little ones, and our Heritage Room provides a space for caregivers to watch the service on a large screen while supervising little ones who like to roam or need a break. Our well-staffed Nursery is open for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings and for special events.

A fun and faith-filled Sunday School for Elementary and Youth starts part-way through the 10:30 a.m. service when kids are released to go to classrooms. On the first Sunday of most months, we stay together for an intergenerational Worship Service. Children’s bulletins, quiet activities, and a special table for kids who want to sit together up front is available to enhance and guide them through their worship experience.

Where are you located and where do I park?

We’re located in the heart of Boulder, two blocks north of the Pearl Street Mall on the corner of Pine Street and Broadway at 1128 Pine Street.

There’s a small church lot off the alley that we save on Sunday mornings for the use of visitors, families with young kids, and folks with mobility challenges. You’ll find ample parking in the city lot adjacent to the church at the corner of Broadway and Spruce and in the garage on the south side of Spruce, both free on Sundays.

Is the church accessible?

The Sanctuary and Chapel can be reached via ramp at the Pine Street entrance, or via elevator from the lower south entrance. Bathrooms are accessible. Hearing assistance devices are available in both the Chapel and the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary and Plymouth Hall (our Fellowship Hall) are both equipped with a Hearing Loop which can provide direct sound to compatible hearing aids.

How long is Worship?

Sunday Worship in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. is about an hour.

What should I wear?

This is Boulder! You’ll see everything from Sunday best to casual shorts and hiking shoes. Either way, we’ll be delighted that you’ve shown up, so please wear whatever you find comfortable.

How can I get more information?

Please feel free to chat with anyone after church, or if you would like to meet with one of our ministers or have a question, feel free to call (303) 442-1787 or email our administrator. We’ll make sure your question gets to the right place.
