ARTS CAMP IS HAPPENING!
I couldn’t be more excited to announce that we will have ARTS Day Camps for both Middle and Elementary School. We have found a place locally with excellent Indoor and Outdoor space which offers private, exclusive use and which will allow social distancing and adherence to all rules in place at that time including masks. Safety will be the top priority for these camps, but we’ll still have lots of FUN!
Middle School (current 5th-8th grades): Dates June 7-13 from 9:00am-8:00pm
Because this is happening so quickly (3 Weeks!) I need to know ASAP!
We will follow the MADD Camp model: Music, Art (all types), Drama, Dance (and writing). We will be working toward a final product–a worship service that encompasses all of these pieces. The week will be Project Based-Kid Driven-Adult Guided. We will have a photographer/videographer who will document the week (may be a youth) and provide much of the footage which will be used in the worship video. We will also have a campfire and a combined vespers/”cabin time” prior to departure each evening. COST: $200 REGISTER HERE
Elementary Camp (current 1st-4th grades): Dates July 20-24; Morning session 9:00-noon;
Afternoon session 2:00-5:00. Each Session is limited to 10 children.
We will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate as many kids in smaller groups as possible. Susan Wilkinson will direct these camps as she has decades of experience in elementary camps at La Foret prior to joining ARTS Camp years ago. She has also been an elementary teacher and knows about the pedagogy for this age group. They will have a more traditional “camp” experience incorporating games, art, and work on a music/movement piece for the Worship Service we are producing. Julia Wirth & Liesl Bryant and Sam Bauman will work with both camps. We are hoping to recruit ARTS Camp Alumni to help Susan with our Elementary Camps as well. COST: $75 REGISTER HERE
