“You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are equally saints and members of the household of God built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus alone being the cornerstone in whom the whole structure is joined together; in whom you also you are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:19-22)

To be a member of First Congregational Church is to join a company of saints and members of this household of God, past, present, and future, pilgrims and pioneers who make a covenant to walk together with you on a journey of faith.

Members (as distinguished from visitors) make promises to God and to each other: to serve together, to show mutual concern, and to participate in a shared witness of love, following Jesus Christ and seeking to advance the realm of God on earth.

New to First Congregational Church? Curious enough to meet others in our church and learn more? Join us for a Newcomers’ Coffee. These days we’re meeting after Sunday worship on Zoom. There you’ll meet a pastor and a few folks who’ve been around for a while, and you’ll have a chance to learn more about who we are as congregation. Newcomer gatherings are announced a few weeks in advance.

As we continue meeting and worshipping online only, we are incorporating our Reception of New Members into Sunday worship. We’re always happy to talk with you about what church membership might look like for you.
