Grants

Each year through the Benevolence Fund of our Endowment as well as our Operating Budget, we make grants totaling $80,000 to support the work of non-profit organizations and the wider church to make our local community and the wider world a fairer, kinder, and safer place for the most vulnerable among us.

Our annual Missions Fair brings representatives from these organizations to further our relationships and engage the whole congregation in learning about their work and the needs they serve. Among the organizations we have supported this year are Boulder Food Rescue, Boulder Meals on WheelsMotus Theater, and Growing Gardens.

Giving

In addition to our annual Benevolence Grants, our congregation also joins other area houses of worship to participate in an annual CROP Walk to raise money for food relief. In the past 25 years, we have given more than $200,000 to support national and international projects through our Alternative Christmas Gift Market.  We provide backpacks and school supplies through Impact on Education: Crayons to Calculators, and support Habitat for Humanity through reloadable grocery store cards. We participate in annual offerings of the United Church of Christ for One Great Hour of Sharing, Neighbors in Need, Strengthen the Church, and the Christmas Fund for retired clergy, as well as making a substantial annual contribution to Our Church’s Wider Mission. A special Christmas Eve offering goes to support the efforts of two or three selected organizations doing important work.
