Recently, the Boulder Public Library chose the book, ‘So You Want to Talk About Race’ by Ijeoma Oluo for their One Book, One Boulder campaign. In conjunction with this, First Congregational Church hosted two conversations, attended by over 100 people between the two. In response to that level of participation, we are hosting an encore of that program.

There is no prerequisite for joining in this conversation practice. However, if you have a Boulder County library card, you you can download the So You Want To Talk About Race audiobook for free with the Hoopla, OverDrive, or Libby Apps. There are also several print and ebook copies in circulation. Otherwise, the book can be purchased online at Amazon or other sellers. This book will serve as a guide for conversations meant to deepen our understanding of race and how to talk about it. The author uses both personal experience and academic rigor to dive into the complexities of these conversations in both an authentic and accessible way.
