It is in the those least expected events
that our callings become more clear.
We are called to love one another.
It is in our weaknesses
That God’s strength is made perfect.
And it is in our loneliest moments
That community rises up to meet us
We are not alone. We are All One.
The Spirit of Adoption calls us to this knowledge.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it;
if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Present God, in confessing, we admit
that there is so much we have put off until later.
Telling someone that we love them or
that we forgive them.
Opening our eyes to see our neighbors as you see them.
Seeing ourselves in the light of your love.
Praying for those who would not pray for us.
Seeing the planet as more than just a mine for our consumption.
And now suddenly,
in the heightened awareness of this season we wonder,
will we remember what this moment is teaching us?

And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
